Pearl Dairy - Midland Group

Pearl Dairy Farms Ltd. is the agro arm of the Midland Group with the manufacturing unit based in Mbarara District of Uganda in East Africa region. The intent of the setup was to help the local dairy farmers by generating a constant demand for milk in the region and educate them to adapt to cleaner and more hygienic milk production techniques to contribute towards the growth of dairy industry as a whole.
Built on 15 acres of land, the plant’s current milk processing capacity is 500,000 litres of milk a day. The plant is engaged in processing liquid milk to various types of dairy products namely Butter Oil, Ghee, Skimmed Milk Powder, Full Cream. Milk Powder, and other dairy products.

Full Cream_Milk PowderFull Cream Milk Powder

Full cream milk powder is obtained by the process of two-step dehydration of full-cream liquid milk. The first step is condensing the material and then drying it in a spray drying tower. It consists of mechanical spraying of condensed milk in a special tower where in contact with hot air dehydration of falling drops of milk takes place. Ready made powder is subject to cooling.

Skimmed Milk PowderSkimmed Milk Powder

Skimmed Milk Powder is obtained in the process of two-step dehydration of fat removed liquid milk. The first step is condensing the material and then drying in a spray drying tower. It consists of mechanical spraying of condensed milk in a special tower where in contact with hot air dehydration of falling drops of milk takes place. Ready made powder is subject to cooling.
Milk produced in this manner is used in food industry and a semi-finished product for Ice-cream, Yogurt, Frozen Desserts, Cottage Cheese, Cheese, Chocolate in Bakery and Meat Industry.

Lato GheeGhee

A type of clarified butter which is prepared by melting butter, boiling off the water and separating the clear, golden butter fat from the milk solids. However, the production of ghee includes simmering the butter along with milk solids which makes the GHEE nutty tasting and aromatic.
